Opening Stand Placement in Petaling Jaya

Plan an opening flower stand for a Petaling Jaya shoplot or mall unit with confirmed access, measured floor space and a clear removal plan.

Opening Stand Placement in Petaling Jaya

For a Petaling Jaya opening, choose the flower stand’s position before choosing its size. A shoplot needs a confirmed spot that does not obstruct shared access; a mall unit needs tenant confirmation of where the stand may go and how it can reach that spot. Neither a storefront photo nor a delivery address proves permission.

Shoplot frontage is not automatically display space

Ask the recipient to mark the intended position on a recent photo. Check whether it sits inside the premises, beside the entrance or on a shared walkway. A sheltered frontage may look convenient, but permission to use it still needs checking with whoever controls that space.

Look beyond the empty floor. Doors need room to open, and customers, neighbouring tenants and people using mobility aids need an unobstructed route. Ask about shutters, steps, uneven surfaces and exposure to rain or direct sun. Do not assume a decorative arrangement is weatherproof.

If the opening includes a queue, registration desk or photography area, ask the tenant to include those in the placement decision. A stand that fits before guests arrive may become awkward once the entrance is busy.

Mall access has two separate approvals

For a mall unit, separate permission to display from permission to deliver. The tenant should confirm the display boundary and ask management whether anything outside the leased unit requires approval. Do not assume the corridor is available simply because other shops have decorations.

Next, confirm the actual delivery route: receiving entrance, any required registration, permitted delivery window and whether a service lift must be used. These are questions for the venue, not universal mall rules. Name someone who can receive the stand and resolve access questions on arrival.

A unit number alone is insufficient. Share the approved receiving point and route only after the tenant has verified them.

Measure the whole arrangement, not just its feet

When comparing [grand opening stands](/shop/grand-opening-stands), request the proposed arrangement’s overall width, depth and height, including flowers that extend beyond its base. Ask about the space needed to carry and position it, too.

Use this worksheet with the recipient:

- Approved spot: marked photo and the person authorising it.
- Usable space: measured width, depth and any overhead limit.
- Access route: narrowest doorway, steps, turns and lift restrictions to confirm.
- Receiving contact: name, phone number and agreed handover window.
- Fallback position: a second location approved before dispatch.
- Display end: when it must move, who moves it and where it goes.

For example, a mall tenant might approve an indoor corner but not the corridor. If the proposed stand extends into the entrance route, request a revised arrangement rather than treating corridor placement as the fallback.

Plan removal before delivery

Confirm whether the stand must move after the opening event or can remain longer. Ask who will handle relocation, whether there is a suitable storage spot, and how the stand or supporting components should be handled. Do not assume collection or dismantling is included.

If no workable position is approved, the [stand-versus-basket guide](/journal/lucky-cat-or-flower-stand-retail-opening) can help you reconsider the format. A smaller gift still needs recipient agreement.
