Sizing a Reception Flower Display in KL

Choose a reception flower display by the clear space left after everyday work is accounted for, not by the counter’s total length. For a KL reception, the right size keeps staff visible, leaves visitors room to sign, and stays within an agreed display zone. A photograph alone cannot establish those limits.

Measure the working counter first

Ask the reception team to leave its equipment in normal working positions. Measure the counter’s usable width and depth, then mark areas occupied by monitors, phones, document trays, visitor badges and cables. Include space needed to open drawers or reach regularly used items.

Next, reserve the visitor signing area. Put the actual registration book, clipboard or tablet where it normally sits. Ask someone to use it while another person works behind the counter. Allow for elbows, bags being briefly set down, and documents passed between staff and visitors. The remaining surface is only a candidate display area; it is not automatically all available for flowers.

Keep any lower counter section used for accessible service clear unless the venue explicitly approves another arrangement.

Distinguish the supporting base from the arrangement’s widest outline. Flowers, wrapping, handles and message cards may extend beyond the base. Ask for the proposed arrangement’s overall dimensions rather than assuming that a small container means a small display.

Test the outline before choosing a format

For example, suppose staff identify a clear rectangle measuring 45 by 30 centimetres. These are hypothetical counter measurements, not product dimensions. Outline that rectangle with removable paper, then reduce it if normal work feels cramped. The final display must fit the agreed outline, including decorative overhang.

Use a cardboard silhouette to test height from the entrance, from a standing visitor’s position and from the seated receptionist’s position. Check that faces, directional signs and screens remain visible. Test the tallest card or handle too, not just the flowers.
