Red and gold

Celebration, prosperity and business luck. The default for Chinese New Year, shop openings and anniversaries with Chinese-Malaysian recipients. Safe, expected and always well received.

Pink

Affection without being too forward. Ideal for a birthday, a thank-you, a teacher, or a first gift where deep red might say too much.

White and cream

Purity, respect and calm. Beautiful for weddings and new homes. One caution: an all-white arrangement can read as a condolence gift to some Chinese-Malaysian families, so we usually add a touch of pink or gold when the occasion is happy.

Purple and lavender

Admiration and quiet luxury. A good choice for a senior colleague, a mentor or a milestone birthday where you want restraint rather than romance.

Yellow and champagne

Friendship, gratitude and cheer. Popular for graduations alongside blue or the recipient's campus colour.

Pastels

Softness and new beginnings — newborns, baby showers, and gifts to someone recovering.
